It's understandably very frustrating for the family and the police, no doubt.
Without Krystal Kenney Lee, however, prosecutors wouldn't likely have a case against Frazee that would hold up in court (no murder weapon, no body, no eyewitnesses, no forensics evidence tied to Frazee....).
So, they had to entice Lee to tell the whole sordid story about a man she loved and to testify against him in court. Lee's a piece of shit even if she believed Kelsey was abusive, in my opinion. But, it's better for her to get off relatively lightly and be shamed for life than to have Patrick Frazee living freely with custody of the little girl.
