That presupposes a government will abide by all the other rules of law and only ignore this one.

So you're saying that the U.S. Constitution and the checks and balances contained therein are flawed?
Of course they are, and sometimes deliberately so. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were designed as living documents whose sole purpose was to protect us and our descendants from tyrannical leaders trying to usurp and keep power BY STRIPPING AWAY OUR LIBERTIES. Read a fucking book why dontcha? Start with the actual documents you're trying to dismiss, then move on the Federalist Papers
Then perhaps the works of John Stewart Mill
or
Thomas Paine

All of these men are smarter than you and had plenty to say on the subject of individual liberty in the face of oppressive government intrusion. Please go and do this before you speak again.

I for one have many more important things going on in my life than worrying about our govt turning on its people.

I honestly think you're just searching for troll bait, and that's cool.
There is nothing more important in your life than fighting to preserve the country you are so proud of. If I may, and especially since I know both you and username are far too vapid and lazy to click my links:

“These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.”

@Donovan... Zero may or may not be a man. We may not agree on some things, but I'm almost certain you like women as much as I do.

Sorry to interrupt the gay love in between the girly fop donovan douchebag and his latest beau but...

US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden has accused president Barack Obama of denying him his right to asylum in a statement published by Wikileaks.

It is the first public announcement since flying to Russia on the 23rd of June where he has applied for asylum.

The former CIA analyst, who is holed up in a Moscow airport hotel, is wanted by the US on charges of espionage.

He says president Obama is putting pressure on the countries from which he has requested political asylum.

Wah wah wah! Me me me!
