There is no intitlement for strangers to morn any of us- no matter our status while alive, nor should there be.

On the other hand, comments stating exactly how little we care of someone's passing- even in a mock forum- seem to speak more of the author than the deceased.

We are talking about 2 different things. Actual grief over a family member or loved one versus a reaction due to a news story that has been sensationalized into an almost entertainment situation to get an emotional response from the viewer (you, me, and everyone else watching). It is "the drama" unfolding infront of our eyes and many many many stories have been written about this and the mass reactions to similar situations.

Being the videophile you are, there are no doubt actors who you will mourn when they pass. I think the idea is that certain celebrities 'touch' us (figuratively, not literally) and when something tragic happens to them, it can affect us. I personally don't know who this woman is really, and while I think it's sad and every tragedy is 'sad', it doesn't affect me. If a celebrity I CARED about died, then yes, it WOULD affect me emotionally. I've been quite disturbed at the passing of several celebrities in the last few years. When Peter O'Toole dies, I will be deeply saddened.
