What will happen to our economy with mass deportations? *worried look* We'll have to give illegals with no criminal histories work visas and pay them a fair wage. There will be no more hiring one legal Mexican guy for lets say $2000 per week who in return pays out 15 illegal Mexicans poverty wages to pick oranges for example.
You're also going to have to cut back welfare on the abled bodied American citizens. I don't know who Trump thinks he's going to create all these jobs for, Americans don't want to work.

I thought about Sally when I read the article about 4chan and Trump. I will post the title below, but not a link to the article.

Trump’s younger supporters know he’s an incompetent joke; in fact, that’s why they support him.

Why must they come illegal? Get a work visa, sign up for naturalization classes. Anything to gain validation. Why come and hide? It has to be cheaper than paying someone to sneak one in. That is the thing that drives people nuts.

Well I was talking about the ones who are already here illegally, but have no other criminal history otherwise. I don't think we need to send them back if they can show they've lived here productively without being a burden to society, just grant them work visas.

I couldn't possibly know this but I think the cost may be a factor in why so many don't immediately apply. Right off the bat it is $725 - $640 for citizenship application fee and $85 background check cost. That's a great deal of money for those working for peanuts and it probably takes a very long time to save. I have more compassion for those people now than I have ever had before this time. My opinion of them has changed drastically in the last few years.

If then did, then they couldn't talk behind your back, even though they are talking right in front of your face!

I don't know, it never occurred to me to check. Is it relevant?

Sweden may well become the next Belgium/France.
Immigrants taken in, however, segregated into one community. This breeds animosity towards non-immigrants, as opportunities for jobs and better education are limited.
Here in MN, where we have the largest population of Somalis this side of Mogadishu, its similar.
There's a large concentration of Somalis in SE Mpls, and now there are more that have settled together in the Willmar and St Cloud areas.
As long as they're willing to work and not burden our society, I feel that most Minnesotans will tolerate them.
However, interaction between Somalis and anyone else rarely occurs because their culture doesn't want to assimilate.
That's what makes most of us feel 'not so warm ' towards them.

Fort Wayne has the largest Burmese population in the country and we have the exact same problem. I don't understand why they put them all in one place and not all over the country. These Peaple will not assimilate and are constantly breaking the law.

Poverty-stricken areas have higher crime rates, whether they're populated primarily by natural born citizens or immigrants. That's nothing new and not exclusive to the United States or Sweden.
Sweden has taken in the largest per-capita number of refugees fleeing persecution and war for decades. They're dealing with the challenges and problems, and they acknowledge the benefits, of their humanitarianism and immigration. It ain't easy. Nothing new there either.
What's funny to me is that Trump can make a false claim about an incident in Sweden that never happened, toss Sweden into a group of countries that have had severe terrorist attacks when Sweden has had none.......... and people looking to defend and deflect Trump's ignorance are all over Sweden like flies on shit. Chase that bone.
President Trump doesn't need to get up on stage and criticize allies facing challenges with massive refugee and immigration in-flow, much less make up bullshit about it, to support his agenda here in the U.S. It's petty and ignorant spew, which is something the petty and ignorant lap up.
But, that kind of rhetoric does mesh well with the nationalist and anti-immigrant rhetoric coming out of Russia's propaganda and global political campaigns which feed the far right in Europe, intentional or not.
What more do Trump devotees need and why are you obsessed with insisting Sweden is a shit-hole for trying to help people?
Trump's already expanded the criteria for deporting people in this country with visas that are no longer valid and for people who entered into the country illegally.
Trump's team is working on a valid Executive Order that will ban immigration from 7 countries to be rolled out any day. If it's constitutional and includes the proper exceptions this time, I don't doubt that it will stand up in court, despite continued protests.
Trump's got around 50% support for those actions to curb illegal and legal immigration and his plans are already in progress.

So, Trump devotees, you're getting what you wanted. Is there something the president isn't doing to appease you in terms of immigration?
Do you realize that the U.S. has more serious problems with crime per-capita than Sweden? Do you think the Swedes should go on a public campaign about how half as many people are killed by toddlers with guns in the U.S. per year as all homicides in Sweden and how the U.S. has the highest per-capita incarceration in the world?
Should the Swedes make a point of telling the world how they could deport all immigrants with very little change to their crime rates, whereas the U.S. could drastically reduce its crime rates by banning guns even if we kept all of our immigrants? Would that serve a purpose and keep you all fired up?
Sweden's not our enemy and the obsession with disparaging Sweden because they called out a false claim about their country is just plain weird.

I'm not disparaging Sweden by saying they could become the next Belgium/France.
Why does that seem so out of line?
I stated my rationale.
I think those that support Trump know what he was alluding to the other day.
The question now becomes, do we want every American city to become a Brussels-Paris-Stockholm-Minneapolis?

I didn't say YOU were disparaging Sweden, MS. But, have some perspective.
What do you think the people in countries grappling with refugee/immigration challenges think when they view the U.S. crime news (of which a low percentage is carried out by immigrants) and then hear the U.S. President routinely spewing about crime in their countries?
Think about it for a minute.

If the crap Germany, England , Sweden or any other country accepting immigrants on a large basis like that and having to deal with all their issues you're damn straight that I don't want that shit happening here. Scrutinize them as much as you can. Its a lesson that should be learned by now in my opinion.

Scrutinizing doesn't mean making shit up and presenting false stats to support your view point. That's just weak-minded lying and propaganda.
When it comes to objectively learning more from the successes and failures of other countries, I wish the US would do more of that. Other countries have certainly learned a lot from our successes and failures.
