Years ago I found a couple of maybe 4-5 day old kittens in a dumpster about to be dumped. A truck driver kept the all white one and that died. The one I kept was all black except for a little white on it's head. I tried to feed it for 3 days with an eye dropper to no avail, I brought it to a very kind lady who had it eating in no time. after a month she gave it back to me. The best cat I ever had. Need more info. What do we know about this cat? Neutered? Have you taken the cat to the vet yet? What is its background? Any history you know of will help me make a better determination. I wouldn't be overly worried just yet.

Where did it come from? What did they do to it while it was at the last place? Need lots moreinfo please.....

LMPP try to get the cat and isolate him in a large wire crate if you can or confine it to one room.

Wear a Tshirt for two or more days straight to bed and give it to the cat in it's bed. It will put you 'with' him and get him used to you.

The main problem with him not eating and hiding is that you took him from his home of two years and just let him loose into his new home without taking into consideration he will be completely freaked out and actually terrorized by your current cat.

If you can isolate him in a crate in the main room of the house, that's your best scenario. You can talk to him there, feed him, the other can 'talk' to him there etc. He can see the sights and smell the smells of the house and still feel safe inside his little temp home.

You can also keep track of food intake, poops, pees, and especially water. He can safely go a week without food but water he needs.

If he feels afraid of the other cat, which is what it sounds like, he won't come out from under anything. He's hiding to feel safe. A crate or smaller room will help him adjust. The other cat can still 'talk' to him from the small space under the door.

Cats can take up to a month to adjust to a new home and this one might take a little longer now he's gotten so upset by the move.
