legalities and moralities aside...

how do people feel about a certifiably insane (in my opinion) incipient serial killer on a forum you attend? he could be yanking our chains, but too much of it is fairly detailed and rings true. obviously not grounds for banning unless overt threats are made. but if this guy does take a few people out, the admin will be getting subpeonaed. 39
right now people are giving this guy a wide berth. i was disturbed somewhat by his thoughts (so he says) of suicide, wanting to kill a young girl with a knife, the comment that he rather enjoys gruesome crime scene photos and incidently wants to be a cop. ::blink::
he has asked for prayer. 30 i told him what he really needs is professional help, to which he took great offense. religious persons think he's beset by demons. ::demon::

I'd have to see the posts, but if he were talking about having thoughts of actually wanting to kill/torture someone or whatever... well, I think the admin would have a responsibility of turning his information over to the FBI or something. 'Just in case'. Let them sort it out.

Quote:Since then I have started hating myself beyond belief. I was a porn addict and my proffered porn was bondage. From there I wanted to see if masturbating to crime scene photos would make them turn me on so instead of porn I just watch autopsies on females or look at pictures of dead women. I used to have a great desire to kill women, and even had a picture of Ted Bundy giving me a thumbs up. I had set a date with a girl where we would be alone. I packed a knife to kill her, but she backed out at the last minute. I sat there in my truck and cried over what I was about to do.

yeaaaah... I think MF should forward his IP information, along with that thread, to the FBI. They will decide what they want to do from that point... they would probably just start keeping an eye on the guy. At least that way, if girls start disappearing in his area, the feds will know to check him out.

The guy makes it sound like a logical progression from looking at bondage porn to jerking off over crime scene photos.

I wonder if that's for real or if it's just another potential novelist messing around with people online..

I think this guy is obviously troubled but a lot of his stuff comes across like bravado and a need to shock. He is full of hubris, overly sensitive and easy to taunt and mock. I actually don't think he is a potential serial killer, real serial killers keep a low profile so they can continue their killing. They certainly don't brag about their homicidal impulses on the internet.

I don't go over to 24 much, but I went over there the other day and happened to read his nine inch nails thread. It's not that I don't like NIN or think it's weird to post about it, but that guy struck me as very odd the moment I started reading it. Jesus Christ almighty, were my instincts right ::lol::

I thought of that and you're probably right, OP... but people who are truly mentally unstable aren't necessarily logical thinkers.

He doesn't sound like a 'serial killer' as such, because serial killers are... well, like that show Dexter. Amoral psychopaths. They kill mostly because it allows them to 'feel something' (but not regret or shame). That certainly doesn't mean he is incapable of killing someone though, and it's possible that this is all a 'cry for help' to try and justify to himself, (if he ever actually does anything) that he 'tried' to get help. It's more likely just a 'cry for attention', but one can never know for sure.

Much the same way I felt about Wolf being here, if a person SAYS they have thoughts of killing someone, I would feel it were my responsibility (as admin of a board), to turn the information over to the FBI and leave it at that. It's not really up to someone in that position to try and decipher whether or not the person is 'serious' about those kind of threats, just as it's not up to a forum owner to try and decipher whether or not someone really is underage, after they seriously claim to be.

Just my opinion.

Hey JB - you're a former police officer.

What's your take on all of this?

well, as i indicated in my post, i am a bit disturbed by the guy. i want to 'watch' his comments some more. he could be full of fantasy-shit... or not. he says he's 19. he could be naive and dumb enough to post all that and be serious. he REALLY wants to be a cop, and i pretty much told him in the open my concerns about that, about his motivation. expert opinion is bundy started at age 15 killing a neighbor girl, but it's never been proven. i wonder if he had access to the internet if he would have posted similar stuff. a lot of these guys WANT recognition, that's why they write letters to authorities. i hate to waffle your question, i simply haven't decided if this guy is simply a garden-variety loon.

Quote:The song with "I wanna f*** you like an animal" in it is actually a scary song. It's showing how having sex, to the character in the song, is only about him getting power over the woman because that's the only way he feels better. I love that song.

115 I'm having a hard time taking this guy seriously.

Especially when he can't even tell you that the song is "Closer" by NiN (Nine Inch Nails)

I love that band FYI... Especially the song "The Hand That Feeds"

I like NIN, but I mostly remember them as having done the theme music to the original Quake game.

That was some scary shit in those days. Smiley_emoticons_biggrin
