Today I was up at 5:30 and started taking apart 4 cellar windows that just pissed cold winter air unless I put plastic up. After taking the windows off I scraped and filled all the cracks in the frame, taking the frame out would have been tough as they were anchored to the concrete. I put a coat of primer on and used butchers wax where the window and the frame would contact each other.
There was a piece of metal someone had slapped in one frame because the glass broke. I cut some pieces af plexiglass to replace that and another frame that had a cracked glass in it. Normally I would have cut new glass but was all out and I had a 48x48 pc of plexi that I was sick of staring at and moving around. The inside of the window frames were dried out and I sealed that with stain and spar varnish.
Waxing the contact points after scraping them made them work like a charm and with new neoprene 1/8" x 3⁄4 " finished it off. I am just waiting for the last coat of varnish to dry tonight and will install them together in the morning.
I really have no idea why I took all day playing with these things, nobody ever sees them but me and nobody could tell that they were any better than they were before but me.
I blame it all on the hot and heavy heaving and humping I got at 4am this morning and am really glad I went to bed early Saturday. Inspiration comes from different places and moments in time, this was one of those times.
Remember that positive things come from positive actions, and if your woman don't find ya handsome she better find ya handy!
