If I came on to this forum just this week and read your posts with no idea where Maggot was located, I would guess Northern California. Maybe it would just be wishful thinking. Even Cracker is a former Cali wonkus, from what I ascertain. You would fit in perfectly with us wonkuses, Sir Maggot. There's a big Ron Paul contingency here too.

Btw: This house doesn't really look this way. It's just that everyone who lives here and snaps a photo is "sideways' at the time.

Come to Northern California Maggot (but only if you bring LC and Dick with you; local LE could use some consultation and serious improvement)!

Note: this post brought to you by the Northern California Tourism Society, Dr. Gonzo, The Ron Paul for President Coalition and the Jethro Tull Fan Club of California.

RE: 34 days....Spring begins.

I spent quite a bit of time in northern california, I didn't like san fransisco, I liked Monterey and sea side, I liked the napa valley I didn't like bakersfield, I enjoyed bodega bay and santa rosa, sacramento was ok, valejo was interesting, venice beach was a blast, I met a girl in placerville who I will always remember, redding sucked ass, shasta city was cool but the shasta lake was a big party.

any way, I pretty much done northern california, and once I moved here I did some of southern california also, palm springs was cool, LA was a big dissappointment, but some of it was fairly exciting like el monte that's a strange place I would recommend everyone from a small town spend at least one night on the streets there.

Riverside had it's moments and if you can't do el monte do riverside.

Tahoe is for stupid bitches that don't understand life or ever really lived any it was a dis appointment.

Pretty much spot on about those locales Dick. If you haven't done Big Sur and just a stop-and -go roadrip along HWY 1 from So Cal to Nor Cal, you're missing out. The city isn't for everyone, I get it. It works for me, but no one in my family would want to live here. I taught at the Monterrey Institute of International Studies for a while while living in San Francisco. The back and forth trip on Highway 1 was one of the most beautiful drives in the world and really a head-clearer when my dad was sick. After having lived in many countries for a few years for business, I realized how much I'd taken for granted what was in my own backyard, so to speak.

Bakersfield is funny to me. It's a wasteland, but I love it because it's the connect between where I live now and my home town and my famly. I've stopped there many times for eats and drinks on road trips home. Dreary dive bar haven. I could teach you to love Bakersfield. I always put on the Rolling Stones when approaching good ole' Bakersfield. "The Girl with the Far Away Eyes".

Spring can't get here soon enough. While we've had a very mild winter I'm looking forward to outdoor living weather & spending my days outside.
