RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Cracker - 05-28-2012

Classy.

Probably not a term you, of all people, should be using.

I explained to you that your post (both times) was offensive to people who have lost a servicemember. Now you know. What you chose to do with the information is more a statement of your character than any right some brave person died for. Living veterans know this day isn't for them.

Wasn't ignorant and offensive enough to families of fallen servicemembers the first time?

Service is one thing, ultimate sacrifice entirely another. You can tell by how they get off the plane and where they sleep at night.

I love this country, I just hate half the people who live here now. They weren't worth it.

Well that's nice because MORE than half the people in this country think you are dried up old sketchy bitch. Never trust Cracker.

To the troops and the vets that have given themselves .......Happy Memorial day. Not only the U.S.A. but for all countries.

I heard Taps playing when I looked at that picture.

For a second there I thought Cracker was back, but then I noticed her post was from 2012.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Maggot - 05-24-2015

The start of summer is here and the weather is just starting to get better. It was 45 last night and I watched a few war movies and a documentary of WWII

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Duchess - 05-24-2015

I haven't watched any war movies but I did hike down the creek earlier looking for the eagles nest. I thought I'd find it, it's as big as a freakin' queen size bed but I didn't and I've been painting and making salads.

A beaver scared the shit out of me, all I could think of was the story about the beaver attacking someone trying to take pix and he bit into a main vein. My feet couldn't move fast enough.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Maggot - 05-24-2015

Beavers make that very loud splash with their tails sometimes they wait till you're almost stepping on them and when they do whack the water it sounds like a shotgun and scares the bones right out of your skin. I saw a couple Eagles circling a few days ago but I don't know where they are and yes their nests are freaking HUGE!!!!Weird when you actually see one.
I saw a bunch of hawks maybe 6-8 of them buzzing around last week also.

At 3 PM today, your local time, please remember to share in a National Moment of Rememberance for our fallen servicemen and women

My Daughter is playing the flute in the parade today, its the first time they have played out of the orchestra and marching will be new. She looks cute in her uniform and she has gotten much better in 3 years playing than I could have imagined and loves Ian Anderson. My wife's love of classical music has left quite an impression on both kids. I told my daughter she is playing for all the fallen soldiers that have given their lives for us and she understands the meaning of today.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Duchess - 05-27-2015

This cool pic was taken by an amateur photographer -

This is the soldier's fiancee. The photographer said he saw her on the way in, she was sitting on the ground, crying and talking at the headstone in a very animated way. This is how he found her on his way back out -

That is one of the best pictures I've ever seen.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Duchess - 05-28-2015

It's beautiful. Some claim it's been chopped while others insist it's an original photo taken by an amateur photographer.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Jimbone - 05-28-2015

Even on the high resolution file there appears to be some artifacts around the eagle... can't say for sure though if it's chopped.

Lovely image either way.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Maggot - 05-30-2016

Happy Memorial day everyone. My flag is flying and I'm shaking every vets hand I can get a hold of.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Midwest Spy - 05-30-2016

Our flag is out too!

Yesterday's church service was focused heavy on Memorial Day. It was well done.

There was a woman there who had served as a nurse in WWII.

Was great to have her there.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Maggot - 05-25-2017

It's here again and as one of the best holidays that usually kicks off the summer please eat like marines, drink like sailors but at the end of the day remember who made it all possible.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Duchess - 05-25-2017

It's going to be raining here and I'm kinda glad, I'm not ready. I've been trying to get shit done here & there but the weather hasn't exactly been conducive to being outdoors so I'm glad to put off a pool party.

RE: *MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND* - Maggot - 05-25-2017

Yeah a pool party aint happnin this weekend but thats OK .........I have darts! Blowing-kisses and can have a bonfire.
