ORLANDO (Reuters) - Diners at a Florida restaurant chain are being asked to pay a health insurance surcharge on their meal tabs to cover the cost for business owners of the Obama administration's new healthcare program.
Customers at eight Gator's Dockside restaurants dotted around central and north Florida are finding a 1 percent surcharge on their bills listed as "ACA," the letters standing for the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare

Surcharges suck ass. I once saw them on our gas bill and when I inquired about them I was told it was to offset the cost of their gas to make the propane delivery to me. What a fuckin' racket.

I charge 12.50 as a gas surcharge on any delivery, some customers bitch and say they will not pay it. I have to take it off if they spend enough money during the year and I look at last year as a guide. But I try........

You are missing the point, Call a tree a tree not a flower. I tell people that the surcharge is there I do not add it to the bill unless they bitch about it, then I bury it. Some people are calling it a political move and yes it is but people need to see it as it is a tax. There are many things hidden in laws that should be out there plain as day. Some like it hidden away and that makes me think they think the consumer is to stupid to get it.
The thing about taxes is they are never taken away, but there sure are new ones that come along that are "needed" .....that is bullshit. Stop spending on frivolous crap before adding more crap to a persons paycheck.
