ok...more from the local "rumor mill"...remember Toledo is a small town... JC's dad was into drugs, selling and using. he was involved in a drug deal over the summer that "went bad" and a CI was seriously injuried because of it.

also... emailing/posting/texting etc. leaves the tone out of what would have been said... so if I said "what are you doing here?" there's no tone in that. I could have said "what are YOU doing here?" or "what are you doing HERE?" ...those mean different things depending on what word you put the emphasis. so in all this...we don't know what his tone was. (I hope this makes sense)... if I say "who are you?" is completley different than "WHO are you?" or "who are YOU?". so either way, if such a conversation was overheard, then it would make total sense that he might have known the suspects and not expected them at the Straub house...or maybe he knew one of the people and there were more than one... etc etc.

I'm hearing from some people locally that the house wasn't ransacked...but that it did look like there had been a struggle... ransacked may have been just an easy way for people to describe the scene..who knows.

has anyone seen JC'd dad's FB page... he looks like one scary dude! seriously!

You may be right that the police didn't say ransacked, but I'm pretty sure the police calls have T and the mother saying the house was ransacked. I'm checking again.

The police said 'things were turned over suggesting a struggle.' Yes,
mom and someone else said the house was ransacked. Do not know
if it was, or if that is how they interpreted the scene.

Maytee believes she has some kind of psychic powers. There are people who claim to be former "clients" of hers who have successfully "used her" in some sort of way, perhaps as a medium, so this kind of talk is probably nothing new for her.

Totally understandable! However, IMO if this was someone posing as JC's mother, I doubt they'd have their page private. And she has hers completely private. You can't see her friends or any info on her, just the picture she has posted of herself and JC.

I don't believe the scale and baggies would have been listed in the search warrant if LE didn't consider them pertinent to the case.

I never said they weren't. I said there were more reasons for such supplies than drugs. It can't be assumed everyone who keeps scales and baggies in their kitchen is dealing drugs.

True, but why else would they be confiscated by LE?

I didn't dispute the suspicion considering the alleged background, and the presence of dead bodies. I merely commented on the statement that anyone having those things in the kitchen could only be involved with drugs being oversimplified and innacurate. I don't doubt there is reason for suspicion. LE knows what they're doing, I'm certain.

No, but in this situation how could you think otherwise? Also is it normal for people to have more than one scale in their kitchens? I don't personally use one and maybe it is normal, but seems odd to me!

I didn't say I thought otherwise. I didn't say one way or another, actually. I just commented on the blanket statement regarding kitchen equipment. Nothing more. I wasn't offended, or annoyed, or trying to be argumentative. I just simply commented that there are other reasons someone would have such things around.

And for most people it probably isn't normal to have more than one scale, if that even. I have 3. The reason is that I'm a fitness competitor and I measure things out carefully when I buy them so it's easy to get meals ready. I have one for poultry, one for ground meats, and one for veggies. It sounds excessive but I don't relish the idea of salmonella, or ecoli, so I avoid cross contamination this way. Scales are cheap, and useful when keeping diet very clean in pre-comp training. It isn't unusual for weirdos like me to operate this way in the kitchen...but there probably isn't a lot of usual behavior in my life. Smiley_emoticons_wink

VERY interesting.

If true (and it sounds plausible), I wonder if Maytee ever reported any of this to LE before Johnny got killed or if she was okay with home invasions happening to other people.
