Presidential race 2016

I was listening to a gentleman yesterday, I can't recall his name, and he was asked if Donald came to the convention with the most delegates but not the 1237 needed, would they give him the nomination and he basically said no. His analogy was to compare it to the winning numbers of Powerball, he said if you get all 5 numbers right and not the 6 needed of course you don't get to win the Powerball.

Donald is still crying like a little bitch about the way delegates are awarded.

I wonder why nobody ever questions Trump's alleged ties to organized crime during the heyday of Atlantic city. He was pretty heavily involved in all that mess way back in the 80's and came out relatively scott free, while a bunch of people ended up dead. There were some shenanigans around Tyson's early days as well IIRC.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

The same reason we never see you question Hillarys scandals all the way back to Watergate.

Yeah, he's still bitchin' his face off, but he's also making a lot of changes in his campaign. I don't disagree with him that the primary/delegate/general election/electoral college process is somewhat complicated, and it's exponentially more so overall because each state does things a little differently. But, the founding fathers didn't want a direct democratic vote, the states have always done things their way, and anyone running for president should know that (in my opinion).

Anyway, Trump's now growing his organization and bringing in professionals who know how the ground game works from state to state. I'm sure the new staffers will be very involved in state conferences, trying to make sure the votes Trump earns in the primaries are held by Trump-loyal delegates (ones who will be least likely to switch to another candidate if no one has 1,237) at the national convention.

Trump's looking very strong in the New York primaries today. I think he'll probably get more than 50% of the Republican vote there and take all 95 delegates. Even if he doesn't get all 95, he'll get the majority and move closer to 1,237.

I don't think Sanders is going to have the surprise victory his campaign is hoping for. I think Clinton will win at least 60% of the Dem vote and thus at least 60% of the 245 delegates and widen her lead over Sanders. It'll be interesting to see the vote count at the end of the day.

New York is hugely important this election; whole lotta delegates on the table.

I've been a little nervous about Bernie recently.

I like that old coot and if it weren't for a couple things I would have given him a more serious look. I like Kasich too but I'm mostly attributing that to the fact that I'm not familiar with him at all. Given his numbers it seems like no one likes him.

People around me are becoming annoyed with my Trump mutterings. I'm starting to be asked why I watch if it bothers me so much. Ugh. Because I like making derogatory comments about the cocksucka, that's why. I don't say that though.

I think a lot of people who know of Kasich, like him as a viable candidate. But, he's drowned out by more flamboyant Trump and Cruz.

Still, Kasich wins general election polls against Clinton every time. I think that's probably because he's conservative enough on some key issues to be acceptable to a lot of non-extreme Republicans, and he's moderate enough overall to be acceptable to a lot of Independents and some less liberal Democrats.

Kasich is kind of a badass if you watch him interviewed and pushed. I saw him getting grilled by Chris Matthews the other day, he knows his shit and doesn't back down.

But, Kasich isn't even getting into the convention unless the RNC changes the 8-state-win qualifier (which they put in place to block libertarian Ron Paul in 2008). And, even if the rule is changed and Kasich makes it to a contested convention, the only way he has a chance in hell of winning the nomination is if the RNC collectively agrees that the Republican Party would be worse off respecting the primary voters' wishes and putting up Trump or Cruz against Clinton or Sanders than they would be pissing off a lot of Republican primary voters by putting up a more qualified and mass-appealing candidate with a better chance of beating the Democratic candidate. Tough call -- it will be fascinating to watch the negotiations if the Republicans end up with a contested convention.

To the Hilary fan club: Is it 15 or 12? She was pushing for 12, but since Bern said 15, she changed her color... Again. hah

Most of Hillary's so called scandals are pure horseshit invented by the extreme right. If there were anything to them other than buzzwords and innuendo, they'd have her on something substantial by now. They've only spent three decades trying to take down one woman, doesn't say much about the effectiveness of Republican headhunters does it? Fucking Keystone Kops lol.

The haters never have an explanation for that. Never. They are cool with tens of millions of dollars being spent trying to find something to nail her with and when nothing is found their theory is that she has done too good a job of hiding it. hah

I provided an explanation of the lies she told to the families of the victims in Bengazi. The Hilary fan club refuse to accept the truth, so maybe sometimes the haters do have an explanation, but the lovers can't accept the truth? Wasnme2hiding

New York, New York...

Well, Hillary trounced Bernie in New York. She got 58% of Democratic primary votes and earned 138 pledged delegates.

Bernie Sanders got 42% of the Democratic primary votes (Independents weren't allowed to vote in NY), so he earned 106 pledged delegates. I don't think Bernie can catch up and don't see how he'd be able to turn her delegates his way at the Democratic convention if she goes in with way more earned votes, but he still contends he has a path to victory.

Trump got 60% of the Republican primary vote and earned about 90 delegates, Kasich got 25% of the Republican vote and earned 3 delegates, and Cruz got under 15% of the vote and earned no delegates. I think Trump's team is in good position now to do everything possible to ensure that the delegates elected to represent his earned votes at the Republican convention are loyal Trump supporters.

Benghazi is a straw horse. She no more killed those people than I got her the win in the NY primaries. Gotta stop pulling your facts from fictional films.

@Duchess, the part that cracks me up is how the Hillary haters swear she is this evil, malevolent entity capable of singlehandedly resisting the millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours spent by the righteous warriors of the conservative right to somehow finally take her down after all these four decades...and yet somehow she would be a terrible and unqualified president because she's too weak.hah

I posted my facts from her hearings and from the families of the victims whom she lied over the bodies of their dead heroes. I've never seen any fictional film about it to speak of and I'm certain the families of those fallen soldiers don't consider their deaths "A straw horse." I posted truth and proof that she straight up lied. You Hilary fan club folks just wouldn't know the truth if it fell out of the sky right onto your face and wiggled...

Trump was asked about restroom laws for transgenders the other day and essentially said that he doesn't care which restroom a trans person uses.

So, now Ted Cruz's campaign has literally gone into the crapper and released this anti-Trump ad.

Unless the general population considers trans restroom usage a much bigger deal than I imagine, I think Cruz is probably helping Trump more than he's hurting him by trying to turn it into a federal issue.

I recently read a story about a school with a new transgender bathroom. A bunch of people turned up to protest it and the kids turned on them. I'm left with the impression that this is not a big deal to young people. They are way more accepting than their parents and many others who will never even have to deal with it.

I don't think I've ever read of an issue with transgenders molesting or raping people in public restrooms, but now somehow it's a national public safety and morality issue? Trans people are the victims of crimes way more than the perpetrators of them.

It reminds of the days when Anita Bryant and the 'moral majority' insisted that gays should not be able to teach because they'd pass on their perverted sinful ways to children, as if homosexuals' lives were all about sex and a commitment to turn everyone gay. The anti-gay crusade was successful for a lot of years, now it's on to the trans community, I guess.

Anyway, I saw that ESPN fired their baseball guy Curt Schilling because he tweeted out this meme and then went on to argue and defend his anti-trans position.

Ted Cruz and Glenn Beck are aghast at how Schilling was canned for speaking the truth (in their opinions) and consider it an example of discrimination by the PC police. Ref: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/cr...lling-espn

That meme doesn't only represent an opinion about the bathroom usage, it clearly demonizes transgender people altogether. I don't care how Schilling personally feels about trans people though; he's entitled to his opinion. But, it's ESPN's right to fire an employee who violates his contract and/or whom they believe reflects poorly on their business. The network doesn't owe Schilling or anyone else a political or moral platform, in my opinion.

It's my opinion that Curt Schilling and people who share his point of view are the ones making this perverted, not those trying to live their transgender life.

What is the current law? Are transgenders regularly being escorted out of restrooms, arrested and stripped search to determine their real gender?

I was on a plane with him in 2013. Super nice guy, very grounded. We talked about our kids. I got the impression that there isn't anything in the world he wouldn't do for them, so I like the guy on a personal level. This probably wasn't his best moment, but if he wasn't a famous baseball player nobody would give a shit what he said on social media.
