You have a very condescending attitude...it's cute in a big asshole kind of way.

this isn't the first time a person has made such an observation.

not the first time i've taken it as a compliment either.

thanks, dutchie.

-pink

condescending, smarmy, smug, rude and a blow-hard know-it-all. and nobody said you could address Duchess as 'dutchie'.
further, if you send one more PM to anyone containing uninvited sexual innuendo, i am personally going to throw you out on your ass pinkhole.

Mock is very free in many ways, but there is a modicum of respect expected in this forum.

I think sometimes people fail to understand that just because someone says there is a problem does not mean the police can go around kicking doors in. That would be hugely inappropriate & create serious problems. They have so many limitations placed on them. It sucks but it is what it is.

There should be a thread on this subject.

IMO, there should be no cops. Detectives to solve crimes, yes. Traffic enforcement, yes. Armed gangs who shoot people's dogs, beat people up, kill innocent people, tase old ladies, etc, etc, etc - NO. We have a second amendment for a reason.

People who even think of blaming the police in this horrible story need an education in the Constitution and something called individual responsibility.

/second rant off

First off, since this is my first post I might ramble a little bit to include all my thoughts.

my statement comes not from conjecture but directly from talking to people who live there today, as we speak.

my brother's home is less than five miles from the scene. parent's home less than eight. both of those homes have high-end security systems, neither of them were ever activated at night prior to this crime, neither of them are activated at night now as a result of it.

Your brothers house is less then 5 miles from the scene? You parents less than 8? Congrats. My house is about 300 YARDS from the scene. We've always had an alarm system - we've always used said alarm system. We've always locked our doors. Right now I'm off at college, but when I am at home I drive by this house EVERYDAY and everytime I go somewhere.

And to the people who keep calling this neighborhood upscale or thinking this is a rich neighborhood, it is not. Of course there might be a few more well off than others, I would not call this a 'rich' neighborhood.

Pinky - your 'theory' is a pretty bad theory. You keep saying that it has not been proven wrong, but neither have any other theories. Right now, your theory makes the least amount of sense. I doubt a 21 year old was in deep enough shit to have someone call in a professional hit from a big city, and then saying that they are sitting on a beach somewhere now - this kind of stuff doesn't happen in Toledo. I also think it is you who has said a few times that no one in Toledo can keep a secret, so if there was any info it would have been leaked; I doubt that. Just because no info has been leaked does not mean that LE has no info. And to say that this case has been put into "long-term storage" already is ignorant. It was a close family member (I believe) who said that Mr. Z was scheduled for a poly test tomorrow. They just did a search warrant on Thursday and got some more evidence/DNA. It hasn't even been a WEEK yet. They are still gathering facts and interviewing people. Your theory makes absolutely 0 sense.

i actually do agree that she's a bit of a whack-job, and you couple this with her recently losing a son and to me it's a wonder that she can even get out of bed in the morning. -pink

Her child is dead at a young age with a checkered past.

Now, he will never be able to redeem himself.

Remember the line from the movie Chinatown?

"Politicians, ugly buildings, and whores all get respectable if they last long enough."

Mom may be trying redeem her son, post mortem.

Grief and denial.

The first and the third are the same thing, lol.

My favorite film!

Hello friends.. Smiley_emoticons_biggrin I am curious as to what Lisa Straubs parents did for a living... what type of work.. etc.. Has it been mentioned anywhere? I did read somewhere from another poster on another page that Johnnys' mother was a holistic healer and psychic profiler.. I did search to see in the local paper if there had been any sort of announcement of the 25th anniversary and/or plans of celebration.. but I never did find anything on that. Did someone mention that Jeff Straub and his wife had posted the anniversary on their facebook page? Any info on this?

COMPLETE SPECULATION/OPINION/THEORY with no factual basis:

going back to the post above and the fact JC did serve time with two others for the armed robberies in 2007, one of which is still incarsurated. So assuming there's some credence to this, it could explain the key and security documents...could they killer have found security documents (alarm) while at the pool party after hearing about the safe and entered the home when JC picked up LS from work, knowing they would come back to the house soon after, the plan was then for T (reported heroin addict) to lure them out so the robbery could occur but things went awry, i.e. couldnt find key, spotted, etc. which could explain the method/items used to carry out the killings (household items). So when JC and LS never came to pick T up and they wouldnt return her texts, she got distressed and drove by the house and saw LS car still parked in driveway. Probably knowing at this point something went wrong, she called a friend, who in turned called the mom...which was more than likely knew there was a safe (possibly in basement) and when contacted was told enough info on the phone to have a "gut" feeling something bad happened.

I think the key and security papers were left behind as useless now, having already served their purpose. My security system has lock on the main box where the battery backup is housed and the voice dialer and all connections to remote cameras and motion sensors are protected. Either these items were necessary in the successfull commission of this crime or were reviewed during its execution to give the perpetrators more "wiggle room" and allowed them to conduct themselves with a level of certainty and comfort. Imagine the police snooping around outside and you knowing they have no probable cause to enter because you know they were not summonned by the security system. This realization confirmed by NO RINGING of the house phone by the alarm dispatch center asking for your password to confirm that "ALL IS OK".

honestly i really don't see this as all that chilling...b&e to an unoccupied structure, ccw 11+ years ago...fuck i was guilty of ccw just last week, i drove my brother's car after the kid rock concert not knowing his 9mm was in the console.

Still reading along here.

1970 is her DOB. Some more of her record was posted about her stalking someone just recently - that someone being Serita.

B&E is not to be brushed off. I never did one. My mother never did. Not everyone is of the criminal element. There's a type of person who does B&Es and they aren't the kind of people who change, imo. They are either on the lower end of the socio-economic food chain and go on to commit more crimes and end up arrested, or they're privileged brats who get bailed out by their parents and go on to college to become successful sociopaths.

Leopards don't change their spots.

(02-06-2011, 02:26 PM)Jane Wrote: ALL good points, but I'm a bit confused. Do you think the mother knows what happened? You mention "turning the tables on T"

of course the mother knows what happened. her beloved fuckup of a son was mixed up in a seriously stinky ball of shit, and he paid the ultimate price for his refusal to extricate himself from said ball of shit. and not only that, he took down an apparently otherwise good seed with him.

doesn't make her any happier about the situation, or miss him more. but it will, in the long run, make it easier to deal with.

-pink

I am not sure MOM has the capcity to care about a good seed, Lisa, paying "the price" in this mess. Everything about her seems self centered and the effect her poor choices in life have had on her son seem are far from her review.

I think LE has a suspect/suspects in mind, already, & are zeroing in on them. Waiting on lab results, going over phone records, (if they haven't already) This case will be solved, & fairly fast, imo.

i appreciate your optimism, it's cute in a sort of naive way.

i'll remind you of this statement two weeks from now if you'd like, when LE is no closer to solving this crime.

they were held over the weekend at various locations in the west-side toledo suburbs, in basements, and at bars, and attended by any number of felons and felons-to-be.

much the same scene has been repeated every weekend up until now, and will be repeated ad nauseum. the cast of characters will slowly change from time to time, as those who die and go to jail are replaced with new faces.

lol

That sounds like some closing narrative to a Dominick Dunne episode.

Well said.
