I was thinking about In Cold Blood, too. Though I guess there are commonalities that good detectives use to figure out a crime, there's also the fact that a normal person will never be able to comprehend the mind of a psychopath. Why these people did what they did to Lisa and Johnny is beyond me. Were they there to steal or kill? What was the primary reason? This doesn't seem like a 7-11 hold up where killing the clerk is secondary to getting the cash register contents. Whoever did this are sadists.

A good tip, which I always forget to do myself, is to right click and copy before hitting reply.

To me this crime is sadistic and personal. If rumour holds true that Lisa's father had made fotutitous investments in the Dinar (the actual currency not futures on paper) then he may have had to find a place to keep them. If this good fortune was related to his daughter and then Lisa confided it to JC its just a matter of time that word was spread to an element that was not so happy for them as was puzzeling over how they might benefit, the rightful owner be damned. JC might have seen no danger in relating to people of this ilk because the comfortible fit of its dynamics were established early on with his mother.

In my opinion the first killing may have been unplanned , the second however was premeditated and purposeful.

It will be interesting to see where the key with the number leads them. As for Tiffany I bet they'll be checking out her cell phone records, to see where she was. Most people if in that situation... if they go to the house of a friend and see something wrong, they would immediately call the police, wait for the police to arrive and when the police officers did arrive then they would tell the officers why they thought it had been ransacked.

My impression thus far is that a faked robbery was set up with Johnny and his friends in on it and the "who are you; what are you doing here?" exchange on the phone with a friend was arranged and part of the setup to rob the home of Lisa's parents while they were on their cruise; the "robbers" entered with no guns and their was a scuffle with a knife and the couple were overpowered secured with the duct tape; the bag was placed over Johnny's head to compel Lisa to disclose where all her parents valuables were, including the big safe, and how to access them. Lisa either didn't know or resisted until it was too late and Johnny accidentally expired; which caused the robbers to panic and put a bag over her head to intentionally kill her as she could otherwise identify them; and they had no guns. The expectation was that Lisa would tell all about her parents valuables quickly upon seeing the bag secured over her boyfriends head and his struggles to breathe.

To Johnny and his friends, Lisa's parents appeared wealthy. Lisa may have had no knowledge of the setup and fought hard to resist - harder than was anticipated. The idea was that, because she believed it to be so, she would corroborate to her parents and the police that it was a genuine uninvited entry and attack by persons unknown to either of them because the robbers wore something over their faces, e.g. nylon stockings or legs cut from pantyhose.

The person who was on the phone with Johnny never called the police because she played a role in what was thought to be an easy and clever robbery; and only later panicked when she learned how bad it had gone wrong.

I agree that the comment by Johnny's mother in call to police that the couple may have been abducted as part of a robbery is very very suspicious. Considering her record and behavior, she too may have had knowledge of it, or was told by the "friend" who called her.

Forgive me for saying this, but this page is strange. I know of no mother who talks like that and I have known mothers who have lost children.

I find yours a very workable theory and connects alot of dots. It fits in with my opinion of JC in that he relates to or goes along with a Leader Type". (Maybe a mother replacement) He gets to play a victim because he unwittingly trusts this manipulator and gets duped. I feel for Lisa because I see her as having the best of intentions and innocent motivations and paid with her life.

p.s. I wish "UNKNOWN" would comment, I see he changed his Avatar, I kinda liked the other one, it added to the macabre feeling in this endeavour.

Oh, man, that is so sad. What a handsome kid with a beautiful smile. I can see where Lisa would have been attracted to him. It's so sad to see his little dog. Lisa had a dog, too - one that she rescued.

Johnny looks like he was a big strong guy. It must have taken a lot to take him down.

I hope these bastards are caught, fast.

I was too quick to ask instead of looking and figuring it out. Sorry. Figured it out.
