Might explain a little why there were cell phone parts all over the place. For some reason this is the first that even crossed my mind.

But I also think the killers specifically placed JC cell on his body as a statement about what brought this murder to bare on JC and LS

If this is true who's broken cell phone was on the ground, scattered in piece if they both had there cells on them?

possibly parts of the same cell phone were strewn on the floor. the body as beat as it was may have been placed on the body. Its stated on the 911 call and confirmed after the operator questions it the first time. I know you know much more than me and ask to clarify what I have seen in the 911 transcription from NG. Might it just be Maytee mis-stated?

TotallyCurious....can you post a link to this tv or written article because the only person I heard say this was MAYTEE (unidentified female on 911 transcript) and if that is the ONLY place its said, we can't really use that as fact in any theory we have.

Quote:Newly released search warrants indicate the home was ransacked. Several items, including DVDs and cell phone parts, were found strewn about the home. Investigators also found several items inside the kitchen area, including pieces of white baggies, a Ziploc bag, a digital scale and two knives.
Quote:Clarke's father found the couple's bodies inside Straub's parents' Holland home, which is about 15 miles southwest of Toledo. The couple lived with Straub's parents, who were out of town on a Caribbean cruise for their 25th wedding anniversary, police said.

The search warrant also indicates authorities found a key, stamped with the numbers 5-4-4, under the body of Lisa Straub. Black and pink pants were found under her neck. Investigators also gathered DNA swabs from inside the home, according to the warrant.

Now, if LE are telling us that cell phone parts are strewn about, key is UNDER lisa's body, pink pants under her neck, etc...they would certainly say that cell phones were found on their chests!

I do not think the cell phone on the bodies is true, its just another red herring thrown out there to muddy the waters...

I will eat crow by the ton if there is an article saying that Lisa's uncle confirmed this..but i cannot find it..

It WAS Maytee who said phones on the bodies and I chalk it up to her (understandable) hysteria.

I think you are correct and now I can not even find where Maytee said it.
I am sorry.

LE has not stated time of death but I think they say between 11p and 4a....which is when his dad found him

I don't think she would have given a second thought to having the Straub's house robbed, but I don't think she wanted her son dead. I think she has some serious mental issues and then mixed with the drugs, I don't think she has much rational thought. It just seems to me that everyone close to this murder knows more than they're saying and I'm not sure they're going to talk.

Totally plausible.

I think Jash posted the part of the 911 call (transcript) where an "unidentified woman/person" states it.

That goes to show you how great our coroners are here in Lucas County to say they died between 1-4 AM....they could have died 10 minutes after they were found dead! Idiots. I know, I know, it's a timeframe..but still...IDIOTS.

I'm back briefly after finding this info too Jash.

I have to say, this TOD thing concerns me. Couldn't getting the time of death wrong, F up an entire investigation? Especially in this case. It seems the hours between 11-1 are crucial, depending. If the 1-4 time frame is accurate, TW couldn't be involved. If it's not, we're back to square one.

Insane

I think the time frame was speculated about right after the crime. There has been official TOD released, as far as I know.

The Toledo24 article indicated.

Quote:"Straub and Clarke both died of asphyxiation and are thought to have been killed some time between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m."

I wonder what the source was?

I think Jash posted the part of the 911 call (transcript) where an "unidentified woman/person" states it.

TOWELS?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: My son is in the basement, tied up with a towel (ph). I just saw him through the window. The police were (EXPLETIVE DELETED) earlier and did absolutely nothing!

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Both cell phones are on the ground, and we can see the people. Him and his girlfriend are tied up in the basement!

911 OPERATOR: Cell phones on their bodies?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: With cell phones on their bodies!

911 OPERATOR: She`s unclothed with (INAUDIBLE) pants on.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She only has pants on! And their hands are tied!

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Four cop cars were already out at this residence. They`re not there, and her car is in the driveway. I want to know where my son`s at.

911 OPERATOR: OK.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I want to know where my son and his girlfriend are at. I want to know if they got abducted by whoever tried to assault them and rob them. And it`s pretty funny that this girl named Tiffany, which is there right now by the residence, waits two hours to call somebody to report this.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK, where is my son and his girlfriend, and her car is in the driveway?
.
.
.
.

OK>>>>>>She sees her son tied with a towel then she says
she wants to know where he is. Now i am totally confused.
How can she see him and then wonder where he is????

Or was this a bogus posting?

Would this impact the investigation, or would LE be flexible enough not to rule anyone out based upon that time-frame?
