Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered

Stupidity from people in charge drives me crazy too--especially knowing how they feed at the public trough and trust me, they do feed. I myself fed at the public trough for decades but always maintained a high degree of integrity in my work and always tried to go the extra mile to serve the public. I was paid very well, for decades, and let me tell you, even after these public servants (aka trough feeders) retire the benefits in the form of generous retirements keep rolling in for decades. I get absolutely furious just thinking about it. Sorry.

Van: individuals who feed at the public trough--and boy, do they feed.

is that your favorite oft-used expression re: LEOs? or do you say "pigs" too? Police

so how were you able to 'feed at the public trough for decades' when your public profile says you are 36 years old?

Because there's nothing much else going on, I'll comment further on the statement from LE.

Playing devils advocate, for a minute, I'd say that in these hundreds of pages we've established that a life around gang bangers is dangerous and that people associated with it are at a greater risk of being murdered than the general public. We've all agreed that good parents shield their kids from these influences precisely because it's a high risk road to nowhere - or worse. It doesn't make the choice of words from LE any better, but it's possible that was the sentiment. It doesn't mean that the victims deserved what happened or that the guy who made the statement thinks that. He's not a press secretary or public relations specialist and he's probably not careful about sensibilities.

Now, having said that, he needs to clarify his statement and I would ask, where is the fucking local press with questions? I want to know if his statement meant that murder in these circles of people is so common that this means that they aren't trying extra hard to solve this particular double homicide. Police departments must prioritize. Is this case a priority because it was so brutal or is it being seen as a just another drug related case of which there are too many to count?

Again I agree with you, but the is no reason to get pessimistic. Info is out there and LE just needs to tease it from its hiding place. I think this double homicide is a small part of a bigger picture too.

zero

Zero, bigger picture in what way?

Organized Crime..Similar to the success of 1920s Mobsters benefitting from prohibition, which did little to stem the flow of booze but made racketeers rich and powerful. As they had Sicillian roots in the 20's and a hierachy of soldiers and kingpins, the new "MOB" may have Colombian or Cuban/Mexican roots and we may be seeing the ediface of a major syndicate enboldened to commit heinous crimes with certainty and impunity. JMHO-

Excellent; thanks, LC. This looks like a winner. Can't wait to get it into my DVD collection in um about 5 years from now. My cousin and I pick them up from the local flea market for a buck each which puts us a year or two behind what's released on DVD but we've managed to build a collection of 3 thousand titles.

and blamed the victims.
if that was the dept. PIO, they need a new one.

Agreed but unfortunately, the officer probably wouldn't have made that comment without that feeling being pervasive in his department.

What if the comment "instigated" was intentionally put out there to piss one of the families off. Hmmmm.....Who has been getting upset that people are cutting and pasting her words and putting witches curses on people thinking they are defaming Johnny? and Lisa? Just something to ponder over.....
