Justme, Did the Toledo news report say if this shooting/stabbing happened in Johnny or Lisa's neighborhoods?

I saw nothing on the news of a shooting/stabbing that was related to any other cases... or anything in Johnny or LIsa's neighborhood. I saw a stabbing/fist fight on Belmont and Hawley..which is the inner city area....

Police say mobile criminals posing dangers areawide
Authorities offer tips to make people less vulnerable

The garage door wouldn’t go down, something — a rake, a shovel, maybe — must be blocking the sensor, Jerry and Jenny Lagger thought. Mr. Lagger turned to see what it was and, standing in their garage was a man with a gun.

“I couldn’t tell you what he looked like, but I could sure tell you what that gun looked like,” Mr. Lagger said.

Police later identified the gunman as Rolland Houke, 18, of Toledo.

It was about 12:45 a.m. on March 13 when the Laggers found themselves wondering if they would be killed. They had just returned to their home in the 6000 block of Apple Meadow Drive in Sylvania after taking family members home to South Toledo after playing cards.

OMG, Butterfly Girl. That sounds WAY too close to what may have happened to Johnny & Lisa. I noticed there were four of them. Holy shit, these could be the guys.

From BG's article:

It was about 12:45 a.m. on March 13 when the Laggers found themselves wondering if they would be killed. They had just returned to their home in the 6000 block of Apple Meadow Drive in Sylvania after taking family members home to South Toledo after playing cards.

...

Through a Sylvania police investigation, the couple later learned that the four allegedly followed the pair more than 12 miles from South Toledo to their home. The suspects tried to follow several other vehicles without luck before latching on to the Laggers.

...

Across the Ohio line in Michigan, a man sleeping in his Substation Road home in Erie Township was robbed at gunpoint several weeks ago by four masked men. Only a few hours later, a man who lives in the 3700 block of Suder Avenue, in Toledo, just a few miles away, scared off four men wearing hoods.

Both robberies came after a Lenawee County family was terrorized by at least three masked men in their Lime Creek Highway home in Medina Township on Oct. 27, 2010.

The men tied up and blindfolded the two parents and their 8-year-old son. They sexually assaulted the mother in the presence of her 5-year-old son.

(same perps?)

Another article on the same four:

Shahid McClellan, 19, was arrested by the Toledo Police Department at a house in the West Sylvania Avenue and Bennett Road area around 11 p.m., said Sylvania police Capt. Rick Schnoor.

Mr. McClellan, who is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery and complicity to aggravated burglary, was staying with a relative in the area. He is one of four charged in connection with a March 13 aggravated robbery in a quiet Sylvania neighborhood in the 6000 block of Apple Meadow Drive.

On Tuesday, police arrested Rolland Houke, 18, and Juanita Osley, 20, both of Toledo, and Diana Schaub, 27, of Swanton.

...

Mr. Houke, Ms. Osley, and Ms. Schaub were indicted by a Lucas County grand jury April 6. Mr. Houke was indicted on one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated robbery, and robbery with a gun specification.

Ms. Osley and Ms. Schaub were each indicted on one count of complicity to aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated burglary, and robbery with a gun specification. Ms. Schaub was also indicted on one count of tampering with evidence.

With all of these arrests, are there any other than VD part of the alphabet group?

I just can't even imagine the psychopathic mind that would prefer a home invasion verses a robbery with no one home. I guess the "terror" of it turns them on or something...and also to save them from ransacking, they just "ask" them where the goods are...just unbelievable. And I used to think having a car in my driveway would be a deterrant.

Get a gun & learn how to use it, no one has to be a victim.

I looked at the map and these people who were robbed in Sylvania are just a few miles north of Straubs' house.

We've all thought the killers entered through Lisa's garage. Same m.o. there. Around the same time of night, as well.

I for one live in Toledo Ohio and I must tell you that this area of Ohio is becoming very violent and home invasions are on the rise for the last couple years. I have a few weapons close by me at all times which every home owner should do as well. Castle law was a deterrent, or should be, here in Ohio but it seems like either the home owners wouldn't have time to use a gun or weapon half the time, because of the timing of the crime. We must protect our families, homes, and personal items especially cash. Don't flaunt cash especially in a public place, stay low key if you have a lot of money, because that's what the perps are after, quick cash, spends everywhere and everyone uses it daily

Does anyone think the Sylvania robbery could be related to Johnny's & Lisa's murders?

SS, I don't think these punks are involved - it sounds to me like they were too young for the kind of torture that Johnny and Lisa went through. I was followed last year home by a gang of characters and it was more than 12 miles - however I have always watched around me in parking lots and over my shoulder and watch whose in the rearview mirror - I got an uneasy feeling about this car - I kept on driving and called the Sheriff - I went on to the next town and the Sheriff met me along with the police - they took care of that matter - I went on home. Drive to the nearest Police Station - call 911 don't go home - a couple of nice big dogs being at home helps. I was sorry to read about the couple in the Blade and then the woman had a heart attack due to all the stress, the Detectives found out they had been stalking other cars - so this stalking people is going on.

"Detective Jeff Pauli said there are times when people living in Toledo or elsewhere in northwest Ohio will cross the Ohio-Michigan border and commit crimes, but there’s nothing to suggest that there are increased incidents.

“This has been ongoing as far as I can remember,” Detective Pauli said. “There are times where it seems like I’m always in Toledo or the Toledo area, Lucas County area, and there are times I’m just not.”

(from The Toledo Blade)

I don't think this group stalked Johnny and Lisa from TGI Friday's - one goes up to Johnny and the other stands as a look-out while the 2 women are in the car - the guy with the gun didn't come with bags and duct tape over his arm. So I am ruling them out. The punks saw this older couple probably driving a very nice car - they had white hair and the punks are thinking to themselves I'll bet they have a couple of dollars on them, so they drive 12 miles to follow them - its disgusting - I hope the Judge throws the book at them all!

Toledo Police Lt. David Schmidt has a good list of Safety Suggestions
in the Blade article.

i doubt they are involved. the people who killed Johnny and Lisa are laying very low if they have even a tiny stick-insect brain.

Longacre lane isn't really close to Sylvania. It might look like that on a map, but Toledo is a relatively small city, so everything is within 12 an hour drive of everywhere.... I hope that makes sense.
