Yes it is. Noon time it plays on many radio stations.

I heard this on the radio today.

It made me think of Tiki; I love Joni's voice, too.

Hoping Tiki has a chance to drop back in before the new year.

I saw Ian Anderson about 4 yrs ago in a theatre that did not need amplification the acoustics were very good and he played a bunch of his old stuff but did not even touch "bungle in the jungle" hah He has an amazing pile of albums to pull from and like Zappa could, can play most of them. A person that absolutely hates smoking and can still at his age play the flute like a Las Vegas hooker on speed going down on an Asian in an alley.
Cross eyed Mary is one of his best.

Smiley_emoticons_smile Quite the mental picture from that analogy.

Never get tired of Cross-Eyed Mary (or anything by Jethro Tull).

When there was talk of Tull finally being nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years back, I read a bunch of comments about how they didn't belong there - that Tull didn't qualify as Rock and Roll. Pfffft.... The ability and talent to incorporate classical and folk into songs that jam and stand the test of time made them top contenders for the honor, for me. I think the naysayers were thick as a brick, personally.

Musically, I find Ian Anderson incredible - though haven't had an opportunity to see him live, with or without the band. As a lyricist, he's right up there with Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell. Tull's songs take me to another place and time. But, even without the music, Anderson's words can still sweep me away. Master storyteller, IMO.

Really don't mind if you sit this one out.
My words but a whisper -- your deafness a shout.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think.
Your sperms in the gutter -- your loves in the sink.
So you ride yourselves over the fields and
You make all your animal deals and
Your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick.
And the sand-castle virtues are all swept away in
The tidal destruction
The moral melee.
The elastic retreat rings the close of play as the last wave uncovers
The newfangled way.
But your new shoes are worn at the heels and
Your suntan does rapidly peel and
Your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick.

^ Amongst my favorite bands of the mid and early 80s.

As for the 90s, a couple of many, many, great lyrical and vocal paintings...

#1, for me.

#2

Other 90s loves:

Lyrics by Prince, voice by effin' Sinead (what a voice)

Radiohead

My favorite Pearl Jam song

And, after all...

I remember seeing the lead singer for the chili peppers for the first time and saying I've seen that guy in a few movies before (nothing x-rated or anything) I looked around and yup he was in a few B movies.

Anthony Kiedis has a way about him.

I really like John Doe from "X", "The Knitters", and especially his solo work, which didn't garner so much attention. He's a character actor in a lot of movies, too.

I miss Tiki and Adub, Mags. Not only because they're not music snobs, but rather music lovers whose picks I almost always appreciate.

And, not only because they both offer a lot of knowledge and good perspective to LC's Cell Block.

And, not only because neither is a troll but both can work a troll like a MF when they just effin' feel like it (especially against an easy target like me, bitches!).

But, because they're smart and witty and interesting and passionate and majorly worthwhile pains in the ass.

I hope to see them both here again soon. These are sincere sentiments from possibly the least emotional bitch at Mock (Big Sal's probably a close second or a tie for the lead).

Tiki and Adub, I know you're both busy with life and very much hope you're both well. I really miss you here, you heart-breaking assholes.

I don't know if 1995 can be considered Dick's idea of the past but...

Van Morrison is a cranky old bastard. I heard that once he was performing and this drummer that was part of the band smiled at him whilst he was performing and immediately after had him sacked. The used the backup drummer after that. I am sure he didn't smile at Paddy.

Hard to believe it's been 34 years (yesterday) since Bon Scott died.

My favorite with Bon Scott.

My favorite with Brian Johnson.

Well, I figured your husband finally talked (ok, forced) you into charm school and I didn’t want to distract you from discovering the lady who you truly are… You’ve been in denial for so long.

...Well she always knows her place…She's got style, she's got grace. She's a winner.
...Always something nice to say, Oh what a blessing.

You know I miss you like crazy, but there are some seriously outspoken opinionated bitches up in here; kind of intoxicating.

Trying to draw you back into Mock more often would be like inviting a recovering alcoholic on a gratis pub crawl. I like you too much to be so selfish.

Actually, I don't like you THAT much. I bet (hope) your boney ass gets kicked out of charm school.

Hope to see you back here way more often, bitch.
