Did I get a present that I could use on a road trip? Funny, I dont remember seeing a picture of you in nothing but a bow.
Of the millions of sperm injected into your mother's pussy, you were the quickest?

You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.

Weirdo.

I just got the call that I've been waiting on, so I'm headed back to bed for a while. Life is good...

Btw, the facts about the Clinton ban on semi-automatics are something that I've considered in contemplating the renewed push for essentially the same restrictions (unless the content of the January proposals turns out to be different than I expect). I agree that they speak for themselves. It's ignorant (yet not surprising) that the wanking faces wouldn't have those facts on hand before bickering with you about it. Bet it was a real bummer for you to have to throw them in their faces like that - you being such a wallflower and all.

You should take a minute to read the actual ban, and what it encompasses. A complete joke. I don;t see how those that are pushing for this cant realize that it's generally a worthless act. To me, it's a symbolic knee jerk reaction by uneducated fucktards in congress looking to appease the American public after a very tragic event.

Nighty-night.

I'd read it before, but recently re-read it.

Wikipedia actually has a decent overview of the ban content itself, plus supplemental information from studies regarding its effectiveness, the definition and characteristics of "assault weapon", and a recap of the attempts to re-instate the ban since its expiration in 2004.

For others interested in that info:

Well, I'll givem one thing. I don't believe anyone was killed by a grenade launcher during the ban...

hah Smart ass. I need a grenade launcher, not to hurt anybody, just to scare 'em into not calling in sick (or not calling at all for a while!).

I don't own a gun and don't ever plan to own one; just a personal choice.

Yesterday, Duchess posted a stat that she heard on the news: 300 million guns are owned by Americans. I've seen anywhere from 200 million to 275 million in the past; don't know if it's climbed or if it's just data from different sources. Anyhow, 13 of American households own guns. So, that means that households with guns average about 3 per. That seems about right based on what I've read here at Mock by gun owners. Lotta guns already out there.

If you don't mind sharing, do you own a gun(s)? Just curious, not that it's any of my business.

Yes, I'm just down to a 9mm. Had a lot more than that at one point, 10-22, 38, 357, a little 25, and a shotgun. Fell on hard times after my divorce in 90's and sold them all but the 9mm.

Translation: The ex got the guns in the settlement.

Just kidding, thanks for answering. Five is a lot to own at one time, but not alarmingly so, imo. Different purposes for some, I imagine.

I like swords and knives; not as weapons. I just like the history and appreciate swords cosmetically and knives functionally. If I had the money, I'd think I'd enjoy owning and maybe even (securely) displaying a number of them.

Nah, she didnt want them, I needed the $$$ at the time. And yes, defo different purposes. Most of the time, I used them for fun. Target shooting, and skeet shooting. Albeit I did bird hunt at one point.

A lot of guns, particularly the ones everyone is so concerned about..are just flat out fun to shoot. I've never owned an AR-15, or an AK.. but have shot them many times (theyre expensive fuckers to shoot), and quite honestly, for me, its a blast (pun intended)

A little sleep deprived here, so this probably sounds kinda goofy. I used to sometimes imagine Gloria Allred coming to Mock and getting a big ole' welcome, LC-style.

Recently, when he's been brought up, I've had the same fantasy about you "engaging" Piers in the halls of Mock.

Makes me smile (even though I don't hate Allred or Morgan, just really dislike their stances a lot of the time). Smiley_emoticons_fies

I'm a bit insane when it comes to him in that I keep tuning in when I KNOW he's a twat yet I fully expect that this time will be different. Last night his guests were enraging him and he was shouting at one of them to shut up and let him speak, not kidding, he was as rude as I've ever seen someone who invites guests to appear on their program. I really cannot explain why I keep tuning in given I spend the whole time muttering shut up, Piers, just shut the fuck up. 78

This is why I think he could really benefit from a little time with you here; he deserves it, imo. I don't think he'd last long, but it would be funny as hell while it lasted.

Some celebrities are banding together and demanding changes in the form of stricter gun control, according to Huffington Post.

A full-page ad taken out in Dec. 19's New York Times shows signatures from more than 100 public figures, including Arianna Huffington, Lady Gaga, Martha Stewart, MC Hammer, Goldie Hawn, and Ken Burns.

Full story, plus the ad and signature list (hard to read) here:

So, that means that households with guns average about 3 per.

Average of 3 per was actually based on 13 of the total US population owning guns, rather than 13 of "households". There are about 115 millions total households in the US as of 2010. So, if there are 300 millions guns out there, it equates to an average of over 7 guns per gun-owning household. That seems awfully high to me, not that it makes a difference in the gun control debate.

You're right.

Some of those guns went south due to The Fast and the Furious straw buyers.

Subtract 1500.

And their corresponding high capacity clips, too.

Then you must factor in people like me that own about 100.

That's quite a collection F.U. Those of you with large collections definitely pull up the "average".

I don't think I've seen anything suggesting limits on how many firearms can be owned per person, but I might have missed something. Personally, I'm more worried about who's holding the gun than the type of gun or how many a qualified and responsible person chooses to own.
