SPRINGFIELD - Heavy snow has forced Massachusetts officials to close all state courts and postpone the manslaughter trial of a former police chief charged in the death of an 8-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself with an Uzi submachine gun.

Assistant Clerk of Courts William Eason said Wednesday that the trial of former Pelham Police Chief Edward Fleury will resume Thursday morning at Hampden Superior Court in Springfield.

should go to jury sometime Thursday.
