I do think the bags/tape may have been brought to the scene. I think if one is planning a robbery, when someone is home, duct tape would be almost essential to bind a victim. As I've noted before, this method of murder is popular in various video games. It's not a stretch to presume that "gansta" wanna be types would be influenced by media. Regarding Johnny's Mom. I agree she's a bit odd. But I think the sexual innuendo is over the top. As others have noted, she's grieving and appears to have impulse control issues. She's probably not one to parse words.
