Judge denies Bashara attorney's request to be present for handwriting samples

The lawyer for Bob Bashara has lost his request to be present when Bashara gives a handwriting sample to Wayne County prosecutors.

"For the reasons stated on the record, the defendant's motion is denied," Wayne County Circut Court Judge Timothy Kenny said.
Bob Bashara said he didn't consider the judge's ruling a set back.
"No, I wouldn't say so at all," he said.
Griem said he had no plans to appeal.
"They had to go through a dog and pony show and it looks like today the dog lost and the pony won. Have a good day," Griem said.
A date for the handwriting samples to be submitted has not yet been set.
