Some news outlets are saying this is the case and was carrying his brothers i.d.

I was speculating to myself that might have been the case.

Wasn't the kid in Oregon 20 years old too?

Violent video games have been out for about 10-15 years now. I'm not saying that's the sole reason, or even A reason for carnage being committed by young people, but it does seem like more than just a coincidence...

I'd be interested to hear from friends and family members if either of these guys were known to play violent video games for hours on end.

From today's (12/18) edition of the DailyMail:

Did violent video game Call of Duty spark gun-crazed loner's killing spree? Adam Lanza 'spent hours with game just like Anders Breivik'

Windowless basement was covered in posters of guns and military hardware

One poster showed guns from the 40s onwards another was of tanks
Mass killers Anders Breivik and Mohammed Merah also played the game

Killer: Adam Lanza is believed to have spent hours playing Call of Duty before carrying out the massacre at Sandy Hook

Sandy Hook gunman Adam Lanza was 'obsessed' with weapons and violent video games such as Call of Duty, it has been claimed.

The walls of his room, where he spent all his time, were covered with posters of guns and tanks, according to a plumber who worked at the killer's home in Newtown, Connecticut.

Peter Wlasuk, 45, said the windowless basement, where Lanza's older brother had lived previously, was all but self-contained with computers, a TV, a bed, and a bathroom.

He told The Sun that one poster displayed guns from as early as the 1940s and another showed every piece of equipment ever made by the U.S.

Mr Wlasuk said: 'The kids who play these games know all about [guns]. I'm not blaming the games for what happened. But they see a picture of a historical gun and say, "I've used that on Call of Duty".'

The Call of Duty games have been linked to other mass killings including the Norwegian massacre by Anders Breivik and murders at a Jewish school in Toulouse by Mohammed Merah.

Breivik said he spent up to 16 hours a day playing the game in preparation for the attack.

He said he became a deadly marksman by honing his gun skills on the Modern Warfare part of the series.

He even bought a special gun sight used on the game, attaching it to the hunting rifle he used for his deadly rampage on Utoya.
