Buddha told the farmers to ride each others mules so they'd be in a hurry to prove there's no being ridden by the other farmer was slower.

That's what I figured, but didn't want to spit it out directly and blow it for everyone else if it was only partially correct.

Switching horses mid-stream (or mules mid-road) can actually be beneficial in some cases, I guess.
