You're probably right, she most likely does believe he could never kill their child intentionally.
It did cross my mind though that maybe the only reason she got a divorce was to seem more credible as a witness for the defense and help get him off the hook for murder.
It was originally reported that she was aware of at least some of his infidelities before Cooper died, but I don't know if that included the underage part or if she knew the volume of women he was hitting on. I could see those points being a marriage deal-breaker.
