Stephen King's 'It' heads to theaters

I am still worried about a new version of It because for every Dead Zone there is:-

Maximum Overdrive - Emilio Estevez against intelligent killer motor vehicles - shit.
Creepshow 2 - Takes the anthology idea of Creepshow 1 and totally destroys it.
A return to Salems lot - just......awful
Sleepwalkers - deadly cat people.....suck!
Graveyard shit - rats.........suck!
Sometimes they come back - makes you wish they hadn't bothered returning.
The Mangler - Robert Englunds lowest career point at this time.
The rage - carrie 2 - A sequel not worthy of licking the ballsack of the original.
Dreamcatcher - Just.......awful.
The Secret Window - or much a do about nothing, more accurately.

sure some have not been so good, but the ones I posted earlier were excelled.

and on your list above - Maximum Overdrive is perfectly outrageous. the truck with the clown face is actually scary. Pet Semetary that was also mentioned is pretty good (THE FIRST ONE) and was well done at the time it came out. I also enjoyed Needful Things, which is one of my favorite King books and in the movie the devil was played by Max von Sydow, who is brilliant in most movies.

I think ultimately the point is that a lot of his books and short stories have been made into movies. Some are really really really good, and others are misses.
