Some of the student witnesses are reporting that the shooter shouted "surprise!" when he blasted into the art room and started shooting.
The survivors/witnesses said that the shooter kept blasting through the closet door with his dad's shotgun, where several students had barricaded themselves. When their cell phones began ringing, he taunted them by saying, "do you think it's for you, do you want to come answer it?"
It's still not confirmed publicly whether the shooter, a student, or a teacher pulled the fire alarm.
Yesterday, the shooter's parents released a public statement stating that they were as shocked and confused as anyone else by these events that occurred.
The statement also read, "we are gratified by the public comments made by other Santa Fe High School students that show Dimitri as we know him: a smart, quiet, sweet boy -- while we remain mostly in the dark about the specifics of yesterday's tragedy, what we have learned from media reports seems incompatible with the boy we love."
All I want to know from his parents is why their son was able to access dad's guns.
