It used to get pretty bad here on Memorial day weekend and Labor day weekend. So much that windows were being broken in store fronts. It has calmed down and it has become a little more family friendly and focused, but they still bring in extra security and cops.
I am overjoyed.
Got all my shopping done for the weekend, I should not have to deal with the crowds.
When I was out your way I lived in a tourist town called Lake Detroit Oregon, little mountain village of about 450 year round residents that swelled to 5 or 6 thousand in summer, all rich boaters and fishermen because they had an artificial lake they made by damming up the valley and stocking the fish. It was a lot of fun except the recession hit the year I was there and we got zero tourists. Nearly starved to death, but the pot was frigging FANTASTIC!
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
