I don't think George was AS hated for near as long as Obama. Most people got over the election mess and gave Bush a chance in office. IIRC, he wasn't vilified until the last few years of his administration. At least I don't recall "hating" on him until those last years when WMD's were found not to exist etc.
My belief (in hindsight) is that it's probably better Trump won. I think Hillary would have ran into the same obstructionism and "she can't do anything right" mentality that Obama faced. I hope Trump runs into that same immovable resistance and criticism for a time. Turn about and all that but my real wish is for a 3rd party candidate. Trump OR Hillary...neither have the ability to meet people like me in the middle of the road.
