The Hunters' defense is, of course, "partisan witch hunt!".
If they're guilty, and it sure seems so based on the indictments, I hope they get sentences to match their crimes.
Politicians who think they're above the law need to be held accountable when they break it. And, it's just plain stupid when they think they can defraud the government (state or Fed) and other U.S. citizens out of tax revenue and blame it on anyone but themselves.
There's no defense when you're caught red-handed. They, of all people, should know that it doesn't matter if you're a politician or a beautician, the IRS and FEC scrutinize financial & tax filings and will not hesitate to prosecute people who defraud them.
