That information would be provided by parents in cases re children. I have doubts that media outlets would seek that it, but it's worth checking. Independant doctors would probably be a better bet.
Antidepressants effect everyone differently. I take effexor and haven't murdered anyone as of yet. I'm slowly tapering off, and am done with statins. The absolute risk reduction is statistically insignificant, so they're marketed on the basis of relative risk reduction, which looks very good, but in my opinion it's a worthless metric.
Fraudulent marketing is a common practice in corporate society, and medicine is no exception. /rant
