Hearts? Animal hearts?

God damn, she's right!! I ate a lot of beef heart growing up without knowing it.

God knows what was in half the stuff my mom cooked/cooks. She grew up in the generation where you keep bacon grease and stuff (lard, I guess) and she used that stuff to cook all the time.

The only thing that really traumatized me was the lima beans though. Fuck lima beans. They'd make me gag and my dad would STILL make me sit there until I ate what he considered a reasonable amount. I usually got away with spitting a good portion of them in to my napkin at least.
