Alrightee. As it stands...
View from the dining room through what is now a great room, I suppose. New hardwood to come, fireplace is missing it's front, decorative face and low cabinets with shallow shelves to follow (keeping the depth of the cabinets to the depth of the hearth. They'll go to the ceiling with the crown molding working it's way around them:
View walking in from the hallway (we pushed out the windows). First disappointment...glass cabinet in there. The store they sent me to only had clear or frosted glass. The one I chose has a pattern that you can see with a magnifying glass. One day fairly soon, I'm going to replace it with a subtle stained glass perhaps with some thin bronze lines meandering through it. I don't want it entirely opaque but I do want some color/interest.
View in to the kitchen; no working appliances *tears* but u can see where my double oven and fridge will be:
Finally the view from where my refrigerator will be (with that boring, glass cabinet front and center). I suppose it will look better if I put some colorful items in there. I have some antique, green, glass cocktail glasses that would liven it up. Damn...I'll have to dig those out (after I line those shelves). I'm almost done lining everything. Yay!
So there you go. Kind of different. I'm wondering what the floors will look like with it, we've got two slightly colorful pendant lights going in that will sit over a small, square table between the counter and sliding glass door.
It's amazing to me how much bigger it is given that we only took down the wall between the kitchen and family room. But that alone let us push in to that space and voila! I get to buy a new couch and coffee tables and stuff too. All that got donated at the start.
Now I have to get my ass back to work. Somewhere I have a pic of our old guest bath (it may be on here as part of a selfie). I'll post pics of the new bathroom when it's done.
PS: I'm not proof reading this beast of a post from my phone so 'scuse any misspells or auto correct nonsense.
