Well, if investigators are sharing details of a crime with the person they are interviewing then I am back to thinking they are backwoods podunks.

There may well be backwoods podunks involved in the investigation, but this is a multi-agency investigation and I wouldn't call the ATF or the US Marshals podunks. I don't know much about the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, so I can't comment there.

Alsanai's gas station/market was right up the road from the fire scene. He could have gone to the scene and drawn his own conclusions. He could have been handed that speculation from someone else who went to gawk and then stopped at his store. As Cutz indicated, he might have been interviewed by police right after the fire and come up with his own narrative or been handed the info by investigators. He might have been involved or in-the-know regarding Jessica's death (in which case, he's a grade A moron for incriminating himself immediately on Facebook). Plenty of ways he could have ended up with the information/impression that gasoline was poured in Jessica's mouth.

Anyway, we don't know yet if what he posted is even accurate information, in any event. We know an accelerant was used in the fire, but we don't know if it was poured in Jessica's mouth or if was actually gasoline. Hopefully, we'll know soon.
