Oh, it's a little stickier than he's just a volunteer... apparently wealthy donors in the 'reserve deputy' program ride along fairly frequently. I know they have to pass all the requirements to become and remain reserve deputies, but holy shit, use them like they should be used! Watching parking lots, doing simple public service work, etc.
