What bothers me about this continually evolving story is that no one has stepped up to apologize for the other students behavior at this situation. The tomahawk hand gestures were not appropriate. In the least they could say what they could do better next time, what they could have done instead.
But now they have the support of a PR representative and the President. Sure an outside investigation is being done-but who is paying for that?
Even Nathan Phillips has admitted that he approached the group and at one point realized this and thought, "What have I done?" I don't recall himself saying he was a vietnam vet-that was circulated on line, but I didn't see or hear him say it. But now it is coming out that he is not a vietnam vet.
I absolutely hold the media accountable for taking unreliable sources from random people online and making a story about it.
