I have the same thing on my SUV. That fucking thing is dangerous, I almost crushed my son with it one day. There is a button both on the hatchback and up front to operate it. He was getting something out of the back and I thought he was done so I pushed the button to close it and then I hear him yelling "what the hell are you doing trying to kill me." So ever since then I've been very aware of having the baby near it.
