Another terrible incident where an automobile was used as a weapon of mass destruction; wasn't sure whether to put this in the TERRORIST ATTACKS thread or this one. So, a flip of the coin landed it here.
So far, 13 people are dead and dozens are seriously injured after they were mowed down by a van in the beautiful and bustling pedestrian zone of the Las Ramblas plaza (pictured below) in Barcelona earlier today. RIP.

ISIS has claimed credit. A couple of suspects are in custody (a Spaniard and a Moroccan) but neither is believed to be the driver.
Two other attacks took place in Spain today with fatalities reported; police reportedly believe the three incidents are connected. The details are still sketchy at this time.
Makes me sad. Some of the ugliest acts are going down in some of the most beautiful places, all over the world. Hate is blind.
