This cartoon perfectly captures my thoughts when President Trump sent out a tweet praising Judge Kavanaugh's performance yesterday.

So, now that he has received a request directly from the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman and the senate does not have the votes to confirm Kavanaugh, President Trump has ordered the standard supplemental FBI background investigation undertaken in such cases.
The investigation is limited to "current and credible allegations". I'm not clear yet on whether that means it's limited to the Ford allegation, or if it also includes the other accusers' allegations + Kavanaugh supporters' recent statements that he misrepresented the depths of his drinking + allegations of perjury under oath + suspicions of financial impropriety...
