Some of the regulations aren’t/weren’t prudent in terms of the cost/benefit ratio. I agree.
In lots of cases though, the short term financial benefit to big (and sometimes small) businesses from doing nothing or going backwards on important environmental protections comes at too high a future risk/cost to society and the ecosystem.
It’s not cool, to put it mildly, when those risks are ignored or denied by politicians looking for votes or donations from the companies/people that benefit from inaction in the short term.
