Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman has accepted an appointment as U.S. ambassador to Russia.
This will be Huntsman’s third ambassadorship after serving as the official envoy to Singapore under George H.W. Bush and to China under Barack Obama.
Huntsman initially endorsed Trump during the 2016 election campaign, then became an outspoken critic of the candidate after the release of a 2005 “Access Hollywood” recording of Trump boasting about sexually assaulting women. Huntsman called on Trump to drop out of the race at the time.

I liked some of what Huntsman had to say and how he said it when he was running for the presidency back in 2012, and it's good that he has experience as an ambassador. This is always a tough job, but it will be very tough in the current environment. I'm interested to see how Huntsman handles it.
