I like Senator Chris Coons alright. But, if he tells me that it's easy as pie to hit 15 three-pointers in a pro basketball game and an NBA all-star tells me it's very difficult and why, I'm gonna go with the NBA all-star (whether I like him or not) because he's a credible expert with first-hand knowledge.
But, expert observation/analysis, facts and truths do not matter to some people. These days, there are a whole lot of those such people. If a party or politician they voted for or like says it's true, then by god it's true and must be defended.
In the minds of such no-matter-what loyalists, it's true and that's that. All evidence to the contrary is simply 'fake news!' reported by hacks or haters, no matter how credible the content /source of the evidence to the contrary.
