Humoring people into a false sense of security is a good way to get some people to do what you want. Then again there is that "trust" thing.

Why wouldn't you just be honest and trust-worthy from the start?

Stable adults are already secure and don't appreciate insincere attempts to manipulate them by insecure adults.

I agree, that's why I keep an eye out for it. But I just had to say it at any rate. And knowing not to trust everyone is healthy if not required.
