Instead, it appears to me that some anti-abortion Republicans created the narrative that Pelosi was trying to 'sneak in abortion funding'.
They inserted the hot-button 'abortion' issue into the negotiations for political positioning by demanding that the bill Pelosi and Mnuchin were developing include reference to the Hyde Amendment or explicitly state that coronavirus lab reimbursements exclude any form of abortion funding (even though it's irrelevant).
In any case, I'm glad Pelosi didn't get distracted from pushing to get the coronavirus aid legislation drafted and approved by both parties.
She and Mnuchin don't appear to have wasted any time addressing the Republican hold-outs' concerns, which enabled them to quickly get a coronavirus aid bill green-lighted by both Democrats and Republicans.
