RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN 2016 US ELECTION & SPIN-OFF INVESTIGATIONS

Paul Manafort looks a lot different these days, less like a caricature and more like a normal person.  Gone are the hair dye and fancy suits.   Now, it's natural hair and a green jail jumpsuit.

In today's hearing, the prosecutors stated that this financial/tax fraud case won't focus on the 2016 election or other political matters, except in regards to an incident whereby Manafort promised a banker access to positions in the Trump Administration in return for a very large loan.  The state's attorneys also indicated they wish to reference Russian oligarchs where relevant to their case because Manafort received multi millions of dollars from those sources.

Anyway, Judge Tellis granted the prosecutors in Virginia's request to immunize five witnesses who will be testifying against Manafort.  Bad news for Manafort and his legal team.  

The judge granted a defense motion as well, agreeing to delay the trial so Manafort and his attorney can further review some image evidence.  The defense had asked the trial to be delayed by several months, but Judge Tellis agreed to only six days.  The trial will now begin on Tuesday, July 31^st.
