RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN 2016 US ELECTION & SPIN-OFF INVESTIGATIONS
That's not a realistic depiction of the cases Mags; we've covered the cases as they progressed upthread.

What's made the Flynn and Stone cases weird is the actions of the defendants, the Attorney General of the U.S., and President Trump -- not the legal process.

Mike Flynn didn't have a 'weird trial' because he never had a trial.  He instead chose to plead guilty to lying to the FBI and to cooperate with prosecutors in exchange for a deal (light sentence).

However, the sentencing judge refused to hand down a light sentence (or any sentence) because Flynn decided to claim 'deep state' victimhood and blame others for his actions rather than cooperate to the fullest extent.

When defendants plead guilty in exchange for full cooperation, the plea deal and sentence is always contingent on meeting the conditions of the deal/cooperation.  That's in no way unique to Mike Flynn.

So, the judge postponed Flynn's sentencing hearing for several months to allow Flynn to cooperate fully with prosecutors and meet the required commitments of his plea deal.

But, Flynn has instead changed his attorneys and continued to claim he's a victim, with public support in those endeavors from President Trump and his friends at FOX News.

As of today, Flynn's final sentencing hearing is still postponed.
