Sorry Duchess and Sal. I didn't see you'd been discussing Roseanne here when I posted about in the Asshole thread.
I liked Roseanne's original sitcom, liked her stand-up, and liked her on Politically Incorrect. She was never a favorite, but I thought she was kinda unique and funny in her abrasiveness and outspokenness............ most of the time. Her national anthem schtick didn't surprise or offend me, it was just weird. But, she caught a lot of shit at the time, I remember. And, she bounced back.
I never heard or saw anything back then to suggest she was a racist, just the opposite. Then again, I had no clue she's been a crazy conspiracy theorist for years until it was covered in yesterday's news -- though her cast and crew reportedly knew all about that and figured they could contain her. Bad bet.
