Trump also claims that the Republicans are fighting to save coverage for pre-existing conditions.
However, the administration is supporting a lawsuit that seeks to relieve insurance companies from providing it, and the failed Republican Obamacare replacement options reduced pre-existing condition coverage.
It's, of course, fair game for Trump and company to make legitimate arguments against a single-payer healthcare system (which, as an aside, Trump himself supported prior to running for President as a Republican).
However, it's really hitting a new low to lie blatantly about something so crucial to seniors and almost all citizens for short-term political gain, in my opinion.
I very much hope the Democrats are developing ads that call out the lies in the Op-ed, correct the record, and focus on their plans to protect people's existing healthcare while moving towards future improvements (which undoubtedly would require a lot of hard work and cost analysis prior to implementation, that much is true).
