Where I have worked I open up my bosses mail. I leave the private looking stuff for him however. Like if it is a card. I always feel wierd opening their mail though. Especially when I see bills or bank statements. Ugh.
A place I used to work at-he opened up all of his wife's mail. They only have a PO box and no mail goes to the home. It always felt controlling to me. She rarely checked the mail, only when she knew a package was coming for her.
And when they got personal cards, they would look at them and throw them away right away. So wierd to me!
I did not look at my husband's mail when I was married. I didn't feel the need to look at his cell phone either. He wasn't very good about hiding shit on the computer however and I would find stuff all the time but he never wanted to talk about it. (He didn't want to share his porn fetishes).
