Some of the new state laws (at least the ones I've seen) make abortion punishable up to life in prison for the doctor, not the female patient.
That's almost equally as absurd as jailing the patient for life, to me.
Abortion is legal in this country. So, it's not only absurd, it's illegal and unconstitutional (and misogynistic, in my opinion).
